Early symptoms of HIV

About 3 weeks ago, I had unprotected sex with a close friend of mine. During the ordeal she complained about stomach pain and I thought it was strange...she reacted as if she had sore or something inside of her cuz each time I move she complained. Anyways, over the past several days, I have been expereiencing neusea and some sort of stomach pain. I feel weaker than normal. Few times I had sort of running nose, but it was not severe. I also feel this overall sense of "unwellness". Now I am really really scared that I have been exposed to HIV. I must admit, I trusted this girl becaus we had talked about stuff (we are good friends) and I thought I knew that she was taking good care of herself. But I later on, I realized that regardless of the answers she gave me about "been clean", I made a mistake. "What if" thoughts have made me really nervous. I called a clinic to test, but the lady said it was too early to detect anything...I should come back in three months. Am I at risk...or are these symptoms simply due to my fear?

Thanks for the response. I was really stupid to put myself at such risk, especially after been careful for so long. What about the waiting period though...is it really "too early" to tell if I contacted something? I read that 3 to 6 weeks are reasonable time for the body to produce antibodies that can help determine whether one is infected.

symptoms are no indication
you have placed your self at risk with unprotected sex and you need testing after 3 month
