Hi,

I met a guy at a lay-by (cruising area in the UK). I am a gay male. He attends here regularly and often parcticaptes in high risk sex.

I gave him oral sex without a condom he had precum but didn’t let him ejaculate in my mouth. I have gum disease. Do I have a risk from hiv?

No, no risk for HIV, but if you have so much anxiety maybe you should start to practice oral sex with a condom.

I do normally practice it with s condom it was out of character. Hence their was no ehaculation! Thanks for the advice anyhow.

No, no risk for HIV, but you could potentially get chlamydia or gonorrhea. The general consensus around here is that to catch HIV you need to practice unprotected vaginal and/or anal sex or share needless.

HIV prevention is straightforward, and you got the correct advice ( although it isn't a general consensus, it is 100% since we rely on the opinion of expert docs) so there is nothing to debate. It is not like when a doc says you need surgery and another says maybe not.

You had no risk. In an adult, the only risk for HIV infection is unprotected anal or vaginal sex and sharing IV drug needles with infected users. Oral sex is not considered a risk by experts in the field of HIV research because saliva contains digestive enzymes which render the virus inactive and therefore unable to infect.
