HIV RNA Test Turnaround

Had blood drawn in Texas 10 days post unprotected insertive vaginal.  Stdcheck and used quest diagnostics.   Blood drawn Monday afternoon, today is Saturday night with no results... I am freaking out.   Stdcheck said at 4pm today they would reach out to lab.  The sample was sent to the California lab.   Anyone ever experience delays like this?

We're in the middle of a pandemic.  Labs are backed up everywhere.  I would be patient even though you are anxious.  A one time unprotected risk is less than 1 percent so extraordinarily low. Very unlikely that this result in transmission.  The lab will get back to you soon, don't worry until you have to.  If you have a long history of anxiety, have you worked with a therapist at all about this?

Guitar, thank you.   It's been almost 3 years since I went through my first anxious spell.  A drunk weekend in Vegas this month brought it back.   Having children and the what ifs is my worry   You were right, lab was backed up.  Just got my results "not detected"   Thank You & God Bless.   I know at 10 days, a PCR, TMA is not conclusive, but it's bound to atleast cut down on my odds.
Are you still married?
That's great it is negative.  Get a duo at 28 days and use protection between now and then but I'd not expect the result to change.  Remember, this is a very low rate of transmission for a one time exposure (less than 1 percent).
Yes I am.   Told the wife about it.   So may not be married much longer.  Thanks ya'll
Maybe get an std panel done. Check that forum for details if needed.
When you see the therapist mention that you have an alcohol problem, because it is denial to blame the alcohol for this encounter instead of accepting that you made the choice.

You have 17 posts that were deleted. Is this a new event or did you post about this before?

The lab schedule is not determined by the result and I'm not sure why you think it would be.

This is something that happen on Feb 12th.   I am aware of my anxiety driven past posts.  But this was a real exposure.  I am hoping a delay on results is normal
The lab schedule is not determined by the result and I'm not sure why you think it would be. Consider therapy to deal with your anxiety.
I'm unsure why someone suffering as badly as you do from anxiety would have unprotected vaginal as you claim you did.
It's "not detected" ...   I let alcahol control my decisions.   I do need to see a therapist though.   Thank you for the insight and advice.
