HIV Risk

On 21st February, I had an exposure. I Fingered a CSW. My Finger had small cut one hour before the exposure. It was a very small cut which occurred while biting skin and nails. There was a small blood clot which was less than 1mm and was dried up while fingering. There was no sex or any other encounter between us.

After 5 weeks I started experiencing throat pain, congestion and throat irritation. I feel like having cold. No other symptom I have. I checked my temperature too which was close to 99 in evening and normal in morning.

Can this be HIV Symptom. Is this an exposure.
Should I get tested?

The only risks for HIV in adults are:
1) Having unprotected anal or vaginal sex, or
2) sharing intravenous needles with IV drug users.

HIV is never transmitted by a finger - not your finger, not someone else's finger - even if it has bodily fluid or cuts on it.

Obviously, since you had zero risk for HIV, you don't need to test and your symptoms have nothing to do with HIV.

Should I move on.  My wife too has cold and throat pain.  Have I given this virus to her also?   Or this is just a coincidence
You don't have HIV.
