HIV Testing Questions

I made a mistake and had unprotected sex with an unknown woman. I have had several HIV antibody test, the last one being a year after the event took place. Every result was negative. I have read through this site and I think I fall into the worry well category, but I still feel like I need to ask some questions.

So here are my questions. Three months is conclusive for antibody test, correct? A general antibody test also test for the different strains accurately? I used an online testing service, STDcheck.com. Are those types of ordering sites reliable?

This is something I've been struggling with for a little while now and I just want a little closure so I can move on.

You've certainly tested negative as you tested a good deal out. All tests are accurate at 3 months and beyond regardless of type of generation. You don't need to talk to an HIV specialist or have a consultation with them.  You really should move on.  It's been a long time since this happened and you've tested negative.  The rate of transmission from a single exposure is extremely low, at less than 2 percent if the person was HIV+, zero if they aren't positive.  So, you need to let this go and move on.  You do not have HIV.

An hiv negative after a year is definitely conclusive. If it helps, go see an hiv specialist or consult one via phone if you are scared which am sure you are. Only they can assure you of it now.
You are safe now, its your anxiety that is causing you troubles.
