HIV-Worried until testing

March 31st I had unprotected sex with a white heterosexual male from a rural area. I am a white heterosexual female. This lasted for about 3-5 minutes and was not rough. He did not ejaculate inside of me, however I know that IF he were to be HIV+ then pre-ejaculation could still transmit the disease. It is too early for me to test so far and I am going to wait until the 4 week period. He has told me that he does not have HIV or any other std and that I should go get checked if I do not believe him. I am worried sick during this waiting time. Is it likely that I could have contracted HIV?

Again by having an HIV DUO at 4 weeks and receiving a negative result it will go a long way to relieve your stress levels. Then it will be much easier to reach the 3 month mark when you can put this all behind you.

I figured I should put all detail that I possibly could about this situation because I did not know if it mattered or not. Thank you both for the advice. I am just very scared but I guess I have no choice but to wait it out

I am always amazed about people talking about races here when posting their issues. It does not matter if he was black, or hispanic, or an alien. The fact here is the risk behavior: unprotected sex. HIV does not discriminate. Anyone from anywhere, from any sexual orientation or ethnic group or religion can get it. Next time use condoms to protect yourself.

As there was no ejaculation, and was only one instance of unprotected sex, and very short time, I think you will be fine. But you must test. Follow RainLover71's advice about testing timing. Good luck.

You had a risk and testing is obviously required. An HIV DUO test at 4 weeks will help put your mind at ease because at this particular time frame the test is 99.89% accurate. You must follow up at 12 weeks for a final test to adhere to official guidelines.Next time use protection because HIV is no walk in the park. All the best.
