HIV anxiety

Hi,
I am a female and I had sex with a guy about a month ago. It was protected (we used condoms) and I didn’t give him a blow job. 6 days after the sexual encounter i was travelling back home and I became very sick. I had a sore throat (with white dots on my throats) and had a high fever. I went to the ER and they tested me for strep and it wasn’t strep. They gave me antibiotics and sent me home.  I just called a sexual health clinic and they said that I’m not at risk of HIV since I used condoms. I just can’t seem to stop thinking about the fact that my sickness was due to HIV. What else could the sickness have been for?

Its correct that you didnot have any risk for hiv using the condom. It appears you had s simple throat infection.  Did they test you for covid?

Thanks for your response! I did and it was not COVID.
THe Covid test isn't always perfect. Anyway you don't have hiv and your throat doesn't hurt now so it has cleared up so you should not waste any time thinking about hiv as a possible impossibility.
