HIV on toilet paper
Im 5 mos pregant, and usually veryaware of my surroundings. Anyway on 3/1 I made a dash for the bathroom and didnt bother to look down before i sat. When I got up there was dried blood on the seat. In my haste, I have no idea if there was blood on the toilet paper as well. Im not too worried about the seat as I didnt have any open areas on my backside. My main concern is the risk of catching something from the toilet paper. I have no idea if there was blood, but if there was whether it was fresh or dried, should I be worried that i wiped with it? I may be overthinking this a bit, but better to be informed and calm than overreacting and worked up.
Yes, you are overthinking this. This isn't how HIV is transmitted. Hiv is transmitted in very specific ways that including having unprotected vaginal or anal penetrating sex or sharing IV drug needles. You can not touch blood and get HIV. Air inactivates the virus. So, sitting on it on the seat, using toilet paper that has blood on it, NONE of that transmits the virus. You had ZERO risk. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.
