Possible risk??

Hello everyone,

About a week ago, I had an exposure that is making me very worried. It involved frottage with another guy as well as protected receptive anal sex. I know that both of these are no risk for HIV transmission however, during frottage, I noticed that he was rubbing his penis againt my anus and at some point the pressure was a bit higher (but not very high) than normal. I stopped this immediately so this probably happened for 2-3 seconds. I don't think that there was any penetration and there was no pain or discomfort. But, since I am rather inexperienced with anal sex, I am still worried that there might have been a brief penetration (say 1/4inch or less of his penis head) that I failed to notice. Do you think the there was a penetration? If so, is that a cause for concern? the guys told me later that there was no penetration and also he is negative but I am still nervous and want to know your opinion.

Thanks

"I certainly did not feel any pain, discomfort or sensation even close to the actual feeling of penetration"

Your anxiety is making this more complicated than it actually is. The fact that you wrote this means that you were not penetrated and therefore not at risk. Time for you to move on.

Hello all, sorry to bother you again. I'm really trying to move on but I'm still somehow worried about this incident. I certainly did not feel any pain, discomfort or sensation even close to the actual feeling of penetration but I'm still concerned about the possibility of his penis head going in slightly during pushing (just enough to touch the mucous membrane inside). What do you think? Also, just to clarify, for HIV transmission to occur, is it necessary to have full penetration? please help.

If you were penetrated you would not be here questioning whether you were. The fact that you are is proof that you were not penetrated. You do not have an HIV concern. You should just forget about this and move on with your life.

Thanks Lizzie! You don't know how this very simple sentence helped me calm down. I did not really feel any penetration and just high pressure which made me think that there might be a subtle penetration. From your response, I guess that high pressure is not equal to penetration. That requires his penis head to be fully in and not just pushing. Am I correct??

This really is my last question (I promise). I am just trying to educate myself on this issue so that I can enjoy life more.

Thanks. I know that if there was penetration, there is a risk. My question is how significant is the risk? Is it much lower because the penetration (which I'm still not sure if it ever happened) was minimal (1/4 of an inch) and the duration was very brief (2-3 seconds)? I'm really nervous and I guess I just need some clarification and support.

I didn't feel peneteration but I felt some pressure. Overall, I don't think that he did but I'm not sure. again, I'm very inexperienced with anal sex in general. in case that there was a very brief penetration (1/4 of inch or less of his penis head), would there be a significant risk?
