Protected sex using a condom is NOT a risk for HIV. That is why it's called "protected". You had no risk.
Symptoms are never used to diagnose HIV and therefore those will not be addressed. But since you know you had zero HIV exposure then obviously it's not related. If you're sick, go see the doctor. But you have already ruled out HIV so that's not the problem.
Ruby, sorry to disturb you.. But can you please share your thoughts too?
No.. This was my first time with csw.that too wasn't planned for.
Am I at risk? The condom was intact. But I don't know which brand/make/type. The cold, sore throat like symptoms started exactly 2 weeks later. That's my worry. Am I at risk? Do I need testing ? What about the groin pain given that bacteria in urine was ruled out?
if you are sexually act in high risk regular basis with someone of unknown status ,you should consider taking PreP ,study showed PreP has 99 % efficacy if taken daily
Thank you. Can you please comment on the symptoms too. The mild fever , groin pain etc

Protected sex is safe sex in regards to hiv. It doesn't matter what brand the condom is. As long as the head of your penis was protected from start to finish, then the condom did its job. You had no risk.
Anyways, if you're sexually active outside a monogamous relationship, it is advised to test for ALL STDs inclusive of hiv periodically.
Just to add - I am male and the sex was vaginal and oral. Both protected
