HIV test question

I recently took an Oraquick rapid HIV test. The results were negative and the control line was clearly bold. I had a few instances of unprotected heterosexual encounters. I am under the impression that as long as the control line is bold and the test is negative that there is no reason for a 2nd test. Is that accurate? These unprotected instances were over a year ago. Thank you
