HIV test result

Hi,

Just wanted to know if it is true that HIV can lay dormant for years before becoming active? And does it mean that at the time of HIV screening, the results may come back negative? I read it in the newspaper which confuse me.

No HIV does not lay dormant. You can't get infected with inactive HIV.
