One year & several negative tests later, still worried

I contracted an STI in my penis after brief unprotected MSM anal sex in June 2013.  I was prettty drunk at the time.

The STI was treated successfully but, one month later, I had unusual symptoms: severe diarrhoea, sweating and reddening of skin.  The diarrhoea only lasted for 3 days, the other symptoms have persisted on and off.

I have had lab HIV tests 2, 6, 8, 12, 16, 21 and 25 weeks after the possible exposure.  I also has rapid blood tests after 8 and 10 months.

All of these tests have been HIV negative.

I have not had any sexual contact with anyone since the risky exposure and remain concerned that  the testsmay have missed HIV infection.  I have read about people taking a very long time to test positive.

Do I have any reason to still be worried?

Thanks for reassurances.

I don't understand, then, why some internet info talk about 97% of positive results showing-up after 3 months.  That doesn't sound conclusive at all - it would mean 3% don't test positive at 3 months when they should.

But, I guess I have gone way beyond 3 months anyway - so should just try to forget it, hard as that is to do.

It was unprotected. I don't know what I was thinking - far too much alcohol consumed.

Thanks Vance.

I wish I could be so certain, the anxiety that all the blood tests
have missed something are stressing me out so much still.

If those symptoms were related to new HIV infection, would tests from then on be positive?  Am I really worrying needlessly?

Thanks.

You have over tested and have a negative status, you don't have HIV.
