How long would HIV survive on the needle

Hi, the other day I bought a blood glucose meter from a Chinese website, and the meter was accompanied by a blood sampling needle in order to draw blood from finger.  This needle package is a small box with a short pin buried inside, the pin would jump automatically after pressing.  Since the pin is buried I have no idea whether it is clean or not. I used the needle to draw blood from my finger, however I now became very anxious coz I am not sure if the needle may carry some virus, e.g. HIV.  Assuming the worst case that the needle was indeed carrying HIV, would the virus able to die within 14 hours (from saler to my home?).
BTW - the pin was buried inside but it is not complete vacuum. There is some air (but not much) in it. Would that help?

Thanks a lot!

You don't get hiv from a finger prick needle. They dont hold blood like hollow tube iv needles. Needles in packages don't carry hiv as well. These are all urban myths. The internet is full of these kind of stories. That's what they are just stories. You had no risk and please move away from this irrational fear.
