How soon?

A few days ago I had a same sex sexual encounter that resulted in receptive protected ( with condom) anal sex and unprotected oral. The guy claims to be HIV negative and is on PREP prophylactic treatment. 48 hours later I've come down within a horrible case of the flu and am freaking out. Coincidence or should I be concerned?

NO RISK for HIV from the protected anal sex.

NO RISK for HIV from the oral sex, but there IS risk for other STD's. You should be tested for those.

The flu is probably the ONLY thing your partner gave you.

Thank you for your reply. I guess I suffer from an overactive imagination. Give the timing, I freaked and immediately feared this was ARS.

It is very normal to become frightened when we feel we've compromised our health.

If you always use a condom for any insertive sex and don't share IV drug needles, you will never have a risk.

Thanks again for your quick reply. In the very unlikely event that an exposure occurred, could ARS symptoms manifest in 3 days?
