I am on PEP with a possible 2nd exposure

My exposure was on 1am on Aug 21. Started PEP 11am on Aug 22.  I am diabetic using an insulin pen (not a syringe).  A few hours after I started the treatment, I gave myself an insulin injection. I was traveling and didn't have a new needle, so I used the one I used before and left on the pen.  It was more than 4 hours that i used this old needle on my insulin pen. Sorry, that was stupid. Say I was actually infected, would that mean I am having a 2nd exposure by my own possible infected blood, thus ruining my PEP?  I will be very careful and bring extra needle with me, but my 2nd question is can the virus go from me (if i have it) to the insulin cartridge then go back to me when I am on PEP?

So you're thinking you may have infected yourself?

What was your first exposure?

the needle was left on the pen.  When I took that shot after my 1st dose of PEP, I didn't took it out and put it back in.  I am on Truvada once a day and Isentress twice a day.

I am thankful for this forum. This forum has been giving me enough assurance in the past, but I guess my guilt-driven worry fuels my creativity to a new height; thus, i am having these question that I haven't found posted before. it was frustration with life lead to careless behavior that leads to anxiety. a quick assurance will calm me, hopefully.  So far, my creativity leads me to ask 1. what's the likelihood that my shot after my initial PEP was loaded with HIV virus that gave me a 2nd exposure which means my PEP need to be slightly longer? 2. What is the stat on HIV remains active in a viral of insulin?  Anyone with stars will do.  Teak, Vance2335, LIZZIE LOU.
