Hiv testing question

Hey,

Im going to get teated for hiv and other sti's next week. I was just wondering whether the labs do confirmatory analysis before they inform you if a potential poditive result?.

Im scared ill be one of those guys that grt a false positive result and will have to wait for confirmatory analysis because they didnt do it initially if that makes sense?.

Regards

You've already been told I'm your other posts that you had no risk for HIV from anything that you've posted about so I don't understand your concern. It's unnecessary to test for HIV in the first place since you were never exposed and now you're worrying about a test that you don't even need to get done?

I've been sexually active since my previous post and im going for a general sti screening which includes a hiv test. Ive recently got into a relationship and were both getting screened.

I just want to know that if my test was reactive would the lab do a confirmatory analysis straight away before informing me of my results? I've heard horror stories of people getting false positives and having to wait around for a confirmatory test - im scared of being that guy! Im hoping they would do it before contacting me
Oral, anal or vaginal and did you use condom?
Vaginal sex no condom with another girl 2 weeks before i met my girlfriend
Okay thank you. Do you think they would do the confirmatory before informing me that my inital test was reactive (i understand this is all hypothetical)
Wait for your test instead of worrying about what may end up turn out to be disreality. You can ask them when they give your results.
