thanks for your comment

''No one said that no one has ever gotten HIV through fluid contact with the eyes.  If you read more carefully, what was said was that the only cases were incidents in a medical/lab environment.  The statement from the doctor is to discount there being a worry of someone getting a drop of spit in their eye.  That's not a risk.

The only way an exposure with the eyes can be a risk if there was exposure to a large amount of fresh, infectious fluids.  Even in cases where it happens, transmission is very rare.''

BUT

in these lines i am confused

The statement from the doctor is to discount there being a worry of someone getting a drop of spit in their eye.  That's not a risk.

by Emily_MHModerator,
And to clarify, it is this site's stance, based on studies and our own MedHelp experts (all of whom are world-renowned for their work in this field), that oral sex carries no risk for HIV.

Was not trying to be argumentative...what is the consensus of transmission of hiv with oral sex; specifically cuniligus were vaginal fluid/fluid from the skens gland is concerned?

I respectfully disagree with you on your statement about no one being infected with HIV via blood/body fluid in the eyes. I work in the medical field and know first hand of 2 individuals that were infected with HIV and other viruses via blood splatter.

In one the incident they actually proved that it was the exact strain of the patient/victim.

I agree that most comments are more about anxiety and not actual exposures; however I felt as though I had to say that

1.  Has anyone ever gotten HIV through his eyes?
Yes however this has occurred in the context of laboratory experiments in which the pure virus has been introduced into the eye.  No one has gotten HIV through the sort of possible splash mechanism that you describe and I am confident you will not be the first.

what is the mean of-- context of laboratory experiments in which the pure virus has been introduced into the eye.

what happend in lab this virus is not deactive.

The virus gets inactivated (unable to infect) as soon as it leaves its host and exposed to ambient oxygen. HIV can survive outside the host only in IV works and controlled Lab conditions. This is the reason, HIV transmission is through exchange of body fluids INSIDE the body NOT outside

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.

HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug users
Mother to child
