Hi all ok ill preface this with a short version of my story first - for people going thru the same thing.
So January 17th I had protected vaginal sex with a girl (im a male) but i had unprotected oral. And after it all i started thinking to myself that it's to risky to sleep around and fear set in. I read online about symptoms even though the rational part of me was saying there was no real risk here.
I got bumps on my lips a day later, I experienced severe muscle pains from my thighs to my calf, the back of my knees, my shoulders and arms and I had headaches for about 2 weeks and when it went away it wouldn't go away altogether and all this came like 2 weeks after encounter. I woke up one night drenched in sweat. I had diarrhea/loose stools for about 2 weeks like 3 weeks post possible exposure. I had twitching muscles all over my body as well.
TESTS
I had tests done January 20th & 31st, Feb 5th, Feb 19th, March 10th, April 1st and the latest being April 16th - which I received the results for on the 30th AND THANKFULLY THEY ALL CAME BACK NEGATIVE.
tests were one oral swab (Jan 21st) and the others were finger prick test and the regular needle blood draw.
This was a costly 3 months for me terms of funds, time and peace of mind. But don't cheat on your significant other guys, live according to your morals and the word of God (Jesus Christ). MY LESSONS ARE LEARNT! lol Thank you Jesus!
Update: currently at the clinic now awaiting my results. The results are in. I called the clinic yesterday asking if my test results were in. Im hoping threw fact that they call me mean that I'll continue to be negative. Today's results would be of a 13 week test post possible exposure.
Just waiting on my name to be called to see the doctor. Ill fill the community in on my results.
Test results always overrule symptoms. Your negative tests show that almost certainly you don't have HIV; if you had combo tests (HIV antibody plus p24 antigen) all results after 4 weeks were 100% conclusive. On top of all that, muscle aching, by itself, is not a symptom of HIV.
So all is well. You can move on without worry about HIV.
