New Features: Photo Sharing & Privacy

Hi,

We're pleased to announce 2 new features that are now available. Both of these features were requested heavily by our members in our "Improve MedHelp" survey as well as in our Suggestions forum.

1. Photo Sharing - In your profile, you can now upload as many photos as you'd like. Simply go to your "My MedHelp" and click the "Photos" tab. This is a great way to share multiple pictures with other members.

2. Privacy - We just added a new set of privacy features. You can now control who can see your "Posts" tab, your "Photos" tab and who can send your private messages, as well as invite you as a friend. To change your settings go to "My MedHelp" and click on the "Settings" tab. From there, click the "Privacy" link and make your adjustments. In addition, Journal Entries and Photos can also be adjusted at the journal/photo level.

Keep the suggestions coming and thanks for being a member of MedHelp!

>whats up with all the nonsense here its uncalled for

Oh, come now, a little levity is never uncalled for. In fact, we probably need it here more than most places. As I said in my other post, reasonable people can and often will disagree. So, we shall agree to disagree, and still part friends.

>e.g. their lesions, oral lesions, weight loss or what might be relavant

Hmmm, interesting thought. If that is the case, I am more against it than ever. Well, I won't be coming here before dinner any longer, at least ;-).

I think the idea of the photos is to put medical photos up so if people want to put photos of their signs and symptoms (e.g. their lesions, oral lesions, weight loss or what might be relavant) up they are there for anyone giving advice on whether to see a practitioner. I mean that in general terms not just the HIV forum.

Ok, not strange to you ;-). Still, strange to me, as I am not sure I like it. Seems antithetical to the purpose, in some odd way. As in, would you go to myspace for advice on HIV, or any other number of diseases? Not sure I would. I can see where reasonable people might differ on this, though.

Maybe they'll change the name of the site to MyHelp, or MedBook.

What do you think about adding the feature that allows people to click on the links people sometimes post without having to retype it? I know this is not exactly encouraged but it does occur and the feature would be helpful to those of us who have difficulties in this are (like myself). Thanks for your consideration either way...
