Oral Thrush and Chlamydia

Recently I was in Thailand and had sex with some sex workers there. I am pretty sure that all intercourse was condom protected (not 100% sure as one may have come of once as I was also drinking). About 5 days after returning which was also 13 days after my first sexual encounter (12 days after the one i am worried about) I noticed that I had an odd burning and sensitive sensation on my tongue and towards the back of the throat and up into the sinus a little bit. It is not painful just a bit tender and raw. I also have some reddish patches towards the back of my tongue. This symptom has persisted to varying degrees for about 2 weeks and is still present. I am slightly concerned that this might be primary HIV infection symptoms, to this date no other symptoms of note however (I am at approximately 4 weeks first contact, 3 weeks last contact)

The other thing that concerns me is that I was tested positive for Chlamydia. Since I am pretty sure I had no penis/ vaginal contact I am concerned that maybe I did. Is there is possible to get Chlamydia from receiving oral sex? Also If I did get some vaginal contact, how easy is it to contract Chlamydia compared to HIV?

Thanks and sorry for the long post.

Chlamydia is very easy to contract and HIV is a very fraigle virus and harder to transmit. Yes, chlamydia can be transmitted by oral sex.

Thank you Teak. I was under the impression that Chlamydia did not survive long in the throat or mouth?

BTW, I have to say that I find this website extremely useful and valuable and commend all those who help answer the many and varied questions. Obviously a lot of people must find it very valuable to get clarity and ease anxiety about their situations.

Thank you.

Is it possible you could be a little more forthcoming with information? At least you could answer my question inrelation to Chlamydia and HIV.

This is an HIV forum - As for HIV you have to be the judge of your exposure and figure out if you had unprotected sex or not. If you think you did you can test at 6 weeks for a great indacation of your status and again at 3 months for your conclusive result.

Symptoms do not mean anything when it comes to knowing ones status
