Oral Thrush and Early HIV Symptoms

I am writing this to help others as well as myself.  I have searched this and other forums and have not found my situation addressed. Eight days ago, I had protected anal sex (receiving) and unprotected oral sex with a man. I also had a root canal 4 days previous that had a temporary filling in it at the time of this incident. I read that the temporary fillings have antiseptic ingredients to kill off bacteria and viruses. He did not ejaculate during oral. I don't remember if there was any pre-ejaculate during oral. He ejaculated outside of the body. I later examined the condom and ran water in it to make sure it was not punctured. There was a small amount of blood on tissue when cleaning up that I guess was due to some irritation. Six days ago, I started feeling tired and run down with anxiety but no other symptoms.  I  have been taking my temperature regularly and it is consistently 97.7-98.2 degrees F. I asked the guy to confirm that he was negative and he claims to be negative and on PREP for the past 2 years. I am not on PREP. It does not help that he lied to me about his name and has duplicate profiles on the App I met him on. Both say Negative as of August 2018. He is the only person I have been with in 2018 and I also had a conclusive negative test in January of 2018. I was starting to feel better about the situation and wrote off my tired feeling to anxiety, but I woke up this morning with Oral Thrush.  It coats the entire surface of my tongue and appears to have grooves in the middle. I tried scraping it with dental floss but it does not move. It actually looked like the white part was standing out on the tongue after I ran the floss across it.  I found a canker sore in the top outside gum next to my lip but no other sores.  I might have some small red sores on the back side of the tongue but I can't be for sure.  There's no pain associated with the thrush. The back of my neck is somewhat sore but it was that way before I was with this guy.  I've found things online stating that this symptom is common with advanced HIV and that it should not occur this early. Do people get this so soon?  Is it common with the first symptoms? Can people get thrush from the immune system being run down due to stress and anxiety? I also saw where some people get thrush and there's no obvious reason for it and it just goes away. I feel like I've had this at some point in the past. Are there any remedies I can get at a local drug store?  I have an appointment with an infectious disease doctor on Tuesday for an HIV test.  I'm so worried and don't know what to think.  I also want to know what the experts think about my situation before Tuesday.  Thank you for any advice you can provide.

I'm sorry to hear you have oral thrush but it isn't because of HIV.  They should give you medicine for the oral thrush so it goes away quickly and reactive lymph nodes happen from time to time.  But HIV is not a concern for you as you had no risk.

I went to a quick clinic last night where a doctor diagnosed the oral thrush and gave me a liquid oral medication. I also have moderately swollen lymph nodes in my neck.

This is an HIV forum and you don't have HIV, so work with your doctor. This is not a thrush or lymph forum.

That was really long but I can sum this up easily or you.  You didn't risk HIV in any way.  Oral thrush happens for MANY reasons and this has nothing to do with HIV.  You don't need an infectious disease doctor and you don't even need to test
Oral sex with or without mouth sores, cavities, bleeding ulcers, etc. is NOT a risk for HIV.  No one in the history of HIV has ever gotten HIV from oral se and you aren't going to be the first.
Protected anal sex is also NOT a risk.

The only risks for HIV are unprotected vaginal sex with penetration, unprotected anal sex with penetration or sharing of IV drug needles.  Saliva and air inactivate the virus.

So, you do not have HIV and can check that off your list of things to worry about.
