Oralsex and HIV

Hi! I have read many times that you stance that oralsex is just no risk, but in an answer from *DR. Handsfield*, he writes this: * Hiv is rarely transmitted by oralsex-- on average only once for every 10.000 to 20.000 exposures ??? Hmm,,,, I'm confused when moderators in here states that it is no risk and no reason for testing. Are there any new case reports confirming that it is a route of transmission ?    Thank you. Best regards. Jes Palin

If you were searching for posts about oral sex from Dr. Handsfield, you certainly also saw him say that he doesn't recommend testing after an oral sex event.

There have been no actual cases, that is a theoretical risk only. People do not get HIV from oral sex as air and saliva inactivate the virus.  The only ways people get HIV is to have unprotected vaginal or anal sex or to share IV drug needles.  That's it.
