Partner testing

I'm feling a lot more optimistic now,
I followed up with the woman I risked exposure with and recommended she went for testing for all STIs.
As I spent over a week with her (from 24 Nov) at her place to the time 35 days(4 Dec) before her ELISA (high prevalence area weighting),  P24 and full STI test (test 8 Jan) she couldn't have had an exposure inside of 45 days and since she is only meeting people at the weekend adding another week makes 52 days say 7 weeks. I'm taking that as 'fairly' reliable that she is HIV NEG.

Her clinic texted her apparently "Your follow up results are fine - all tests NEGATIVE

I discussed it with her and she told me about what happened at the clinic she went to. I followed up with the clinic and all the procedures she mentioned which are slightly different to the ones here ring true so I'm reading a strong element of truth from her. I think a healthy degree of suspicion in case of that she's not telling the truth in case of disclosure issues is a bit safer than believing everything she says.

The p24 wouldn't show a POS even if she was POS a few weeks after an initial infection?

The ELISA would probably show up antibodies by 45, 52 days?

The Paroxetine she is prescribed wouldn't affect the test.

Only thing if she has been POS for a long time there might not be enough antibodies to show a POS? She has been tested within a year though.

In future I'm going back to using condoms for the first 3 months at least then we test together.

Well today is 7 weeks (day 51) post (possible) exposure 4 Dec.

She said to me on the telephone "of course she doesn't have HIV". Of course she may have disclosure issues. She offered that we both go together and test, though her knowing it's logistically difficult for me doesn't inspire me with confidence in her offer.

This sounds a bit messed up but I could use her support if it comes out pos and I expect vice versa.

But, I tried to book me and her into the same testing clinic in London 4th Feb as I am in London the weekend.
They said I couldn't get a same day test unless I was gay.
Also as she has been there before I would need her clinic ID to book her in at the same time. I suppose it's something we should both discuss first, if she is still speaking to me.

Sheesh they don't make it easy for Doctors to liase with each other.
In retrospect one would think if someone is presenting for PEP, they'd treat it as a medical emergency and a Doctor in one GU clinic would be able to access someone's last known status in another GU clinic.

Most of suspected ARS symptoms have gone.

Some of the rash is still there but smaller, the macules and flat raised blemishes (my own Doctor said they look fungal) have disappeared some time ago. Some of the papules have turned into brown spots, (liver spots, beauty spots or whatever they are called, also a lot of new  skin tags which weren't part of the suspected ARS rash. There are still some tiny bright red papules but I've noticed them on a lot of people e.g. when we were all changing after a shift stewarding an event in our weather gear so suspect at least some of the rash is heat, sweat fungus related ( I had a fungal looking infection on my soles nad palms a month before poss exposure (sounds like secondary syph (r is it gonnorea) but I've never had pimary lesion.
I have a couple of pre-existing folliculitis spots, from when I shaved my chest.

The parotid node nippiness all but went, then I got a common cold and it is back. Same for nodes in my groin area and armpits. That's on and off since day 23 to day 51. I4 weeks is feasible for ARS I read. I had pre-existing glandular pain back in my lower neck throughout summer and autumn so could be dental but the groin and armpits?.

Muscle pain, joint pain ... well I'm not getting younger.

Not sure I had a fever, back of neck and between shoulder blades were hot in the mornings though no night sweats (except on 30 Dec when I had a hangover.

Diarrohea (concurrent with Antibiotics) has gone.

5 weeks to go until final test. Not sure whether to test at 8 weeks as the idea was for both of us to go get tested together.
Probably not a good idea going on my own as I'll be the other side of the country from my support network, though of course I wouldn't get the results unless I asked them to be texted e-mailed or phoned for them. which kind of defeats the purpose of it. I can cancel.

I hope I am being paranoid.

I never got the test results from her clinic, I don't think even the doctors at my clinic would be able to get them e.g. to decide if a further test is necessary (which I am doing at 13 weeks anyway).

She phoned me to say she got the text message:
"Your follow up results are fine - all tests NEGATIVE".

As I'm slightly suspicious that
1) She may not have went,
2) may have lied about results etc

I phoned to corroborate if that is the type of message that would be sent in a NEG text message result.
He said it sounded like something they would send and of course couldn't give out results.

I would have found the information at their website. http://www.chelwest.nhs.uk/hiv-sexual-health/sexual-health-faqs.html

Well that is BS. You cannot get anyones test results. You couldn't get the results even if you walked in the clinic and asked to see them. It's against the law for anyone to receive the test results of someone else unless she signed a release for you to receive the results and they wouldn't give them to you over the phone.

I telephoned the clinic she went to get tested at 6 weeks post exposre. They verified that the text message she claimed to receive is "Follow up tests are fine - ALL NEGATIVE"
My parotid nodes (behind the ears are a bit nippy and the node on the left of my neck half way down.
I had quite a lot to drink and smoke Saturday night though and I get a swollen neck node often after a heavy weekend.

I see the nurse at my local doctor's surgery today to get nicotine patches. It's been ages since I had a full medical (2001 which was for work) so I'll maybe ask for a once over while I'm there.

That's quite re-assuring. That and her saying (prior to suspected exposure) she hasn't seen anyone since October.

Stay well.

"Only thing if she has been POS for a long time there might not be enough antibodies to show a POS? "

Once someone has tested positive and it has been confirmed, they well always test positive for antibodies.
