I can understand if you had a sexual experience outside your marriage and the condom broke being worried.  However, under the worst of circumstances, the risk of transmission during a one time condom break is less than 2 percent.  And you tested negative.  If you tested negative at 28 days or beyond, you can confidently resume relations with your wife.  Guilt does terrible things to us but don't let it ruin your life.

Hi both u fully understand everything I will test after 28 days to be sure my only question was it it can be answered just for informational purpose also is when is one able to start transmitting( through proven modes ) from the day of the exposure is it immediate or is there a specific set or days like the window period tks
You need to use condom for vaginal and anal intercourse until you test clear of your 28 days IV Gen.

Practically, it takes about 72 hours for the virus to fuse with the host cell and infect. Thereafter, infected person can start infecting other people. At the initial stages, the viral load is very high. Hence, the odds of transmission is apparently higher.

You are obviously cooking up something relevant to your situation with this information, it's very easier to misinterpret, it is advisable to tell us what is your concern, may be we could help you with it.

Hi mike tks I had protected sex with my wife and oral ( I gave and not her ) within 24 hrs of the exposure as I did not really realise what has happened with the condom break etc so that’s why I asked the question to be sure... after that I have abstained myself from anything until till date until I cross 28 days and get the test done again I am
Being very conscious to the fact even if low risk and as u have rightly told stressing too much due to guilt I don’t want anyone else to suffer if anything happens in this period due to the blunder I made for which I regret even now apologies for keeping nagging on this but as I have to rely on expert information to calm my mind
You haven't risked your wife, protected sex is safe. Oral is not a risk. As discussed before, your risk is low, it's the guilt that is playing on your mind, deal with that somehow to get over this incident. Good luck.
Hi mike I am in 26 days from date  of exposure what is the best test to take after 28 days ? Also again can be anxiety related I have developed a sore throat with low grade fever today can this be an ARS symptom ? In general what is the timeframe of these symptoms and what are they as there a lot of different threads on them ... again apologies I understand but just clarifying
4th or 5th generation test will give you the answers that you seek.

Your symptoms are not specific to HIV and it is past the timeframe for ARS.
Hi all I did a bio sure hiv self test at home after 4 weeks and the results are negative , I can read from information on the net that the bio sure test is quite reliable and replicated and 4th gen one - is this true ? Do I still reach out to a clinic for actual blood tests or do u repeat the bio sure after 8 and 12 weeks to be sure tks

Your details are vague at this point, please state your exposure, if you had one, for us to give you a subjective evaluation.

Had sex with Csw vaginal condom broke during intercourses but realised and retracted immediately I haven’t had unprotected sex since then with my wife but once protected and oral so asking if in case I had acquired ( which is low according to what I read in the posts in the forum ) what is the risk of transmission ... and how long does a person take after the day of acquiring infection
I m not sure, but I somehow feel we have spoken before.

Ease up. Your risk was low, just get a test at 28 days from the date of your suspected exposure. There are a million chances of CSW not being positive. Even if she somehow was, your risk was low.

See a shrink for your guilt, believe me or not, it's the root cause of your ordeal.
