blood exposure...please help

i was at a softball game when a player got hit in the face. it busted above his eye open. no gloves were availble i tried to help put gauze over with plastic bags covering my hands. after we covered his wound i relized i had a few drops of blood on my hand. i tried not to freak out, but i am worried, not sure if he was infected. i asked him if i needed to worry he said no...but not sure if i should trust him, dont know him very well. i washed my hands after exposure.please help calm my nerves, also it has been a week, and i have flu like symptoms know????

HIV is not transmitted in that manner.

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.
