Please can someone help me urgently with understanding my results.

11 days ago I had sexual entercourse with a man I didn't no. I was very drunk and I remember pushing him off me when realising what was happening. I know it was a stupid thing to do and I regret it so much. I don't no if contraception was used. I have now for the last two days had all the symptoms for early HIV. My gland is up in my throat, I have aches and pains all over my body and I have a temperature.

I went to the doctors and got tested. I received the results in an email they said the HIV test was negative but my monocytes is high and there are a few other areas in green. I am worried that my HIV is to early to detect but the results are showing the infection starting. I am in a foreign country and I am running out of money therefore I can't afford a follow up appointment with the doctor to talk about my results.

Please, please someone help me I feel so sick with worry, I don't think I can take this anymore.

HIV is not disgnosed basis on symtoms or other usual blood profile tests. Dont worry you would be fine absolutely. 30 days pass with a blink of eyes and I am sure you have already passed 11 days so 19 days to go.

Thank you for your message.

All my other results are normal surely if HIV was entering my blood stream which the symptoms indicate it would show up in other areas of my blood tests? Or does it not show up at all?

The thought of having to wait 30 days kills me.

Firstly you need to calm down. HIV transmission in single exposure vaginally is less. You also do not know if your partner was positive and there are odd chances of it so dont worry. I would suggest to wait for 30 days to complete from your initial exposure and clearly mention your lab to do a 4 th generation antigen antibody duo test.

Regarding monocytes please refer below

Monocytes and Macrophages
These cells engulf or "eat" and destroy disease-causing organisms (germs). They normally make up about two to ten percent of the total WBC count

As I wrote I don't no if contraception was used, I don't think it was. I had Antibody HIV 1 and HIV 3, Blood count and C-Reative Protein. The only red result was monocytes which was high. Would it pick up other results this early? Please help I am panicking so much.

Hi, was a condom used? Secondly, HIV screening tests are to be taken after 30 days of exposure based on the generation and type of testing.
