Please help. CRF01_AE and crf01

Dear Dr. I had high risk exposure unprotected sex. I tested with 4th generation hiv [Abbott Architect cmia] 3 months after exposure and the result is non reactive. I also had 5th generation hiv test [BioPlex 2200] at 5 months after exposure result also non reactive. I am concerned about CRF01_AE because it's dominant in Thailand The two test I had [4th generation and 5th generation] are able to detect CRF01_AE in the antigen part of the test and can detect crf01 and crf02 in the antibody part of the test . My questions are:
1. I surely missed the antigen part because I tested after 3 months onward and the antigen can't be detected late.
2. Is CRF01_AE part of crf01?
3. Is crf01 antibody part of the test cover the CRF01_AE?
4. Is there any difference between crf01 and CRF01_AE?

Many thanks and appreciated.

And by the way, this isn't the doctors' forum. We too are members here.

I'm sorry, I don't know, and to be honest with you, it's not relevant. But, what I am absolutely sure of is that the 4th gen at 3 months covers you for both HIV-1 and HIV-2 and all their subtypes. Therefore, you don't have an HIV concern.

Many thanks for your reply. But I am just concerned about crf01 and CRF01_AE are they the same thing or different. I just wanna know if the tests I have done cover them. Thanks

Any negative antibody test, including the 4th gen will rule out the possibility of HIV infection and ALL it's subtypes.

You are conclusively negative, with or without antigen detection.
