I had intercourse with an HIV positive male more then once

Hi,
So I was dating this guy for about one year. We mostly used condoms but there's been many times when we haven't. In may the health department was at my school and called me down to the nurses office to inform me that my boyfriend was HIV positive. I honestly was speechless and didn't know what to do, I could barely move. I felt so stupid to have unprotected sex with him in the first place. I asked him about it and he was as mentally distraught as I was. He told me he had no idea he had it and was truly sorry. Well I basically felt like my life was over and I didn't even get tested yet. So I decided to get tested 2 weeks after my last "exposure" to him and it was negative, then I tested again at 4 weeks it was also negative. I just got tested this past Monday which was the 8 week, 5 days mark and that was also negative. I'm so scared that i have hiv I can't enjoy life anymore. Do you think I will come out hiv positive or negative? I know that 3 months is the window period but i'm so paranoid I don't know what to do. my last HIV test was at the 8 week, 5 day mark. How accurate is this???? I feel like there is no way i'm negative because he is HIV+ and I was with him more then once without protection.

Ok thanks. I'm just so scared and I feel like even if I do end up having it, it's my own fault anyways for making stupid decisions.

If you read what the Dr's on this site say the 8 week test will pick up probably about 99% of infections.

Ok it probably was a WB. But if you are still in contact with him try to reach out to make sure it was a WB. Because we have seen people on this forum test positive with quick tests and even lab based tests but be negative on the WB, which is the confirmation test.

I just feel that there is NO way that i'm negative because we were together many times without protection and I don't think i'm that lucky to not catch the virus..

He told me that he originally went to get tested to HIV and all other stds and they first tested him with the Oraquick 20 minute test and they pricked his finger and that test came back positive then they tested him again and they sent that test somewhere and a week later they called him back into the office and told him he was positive. I think that was the western blot test?

Did your bf just have an antibody test positive or was a Western Blot also done? I would find that out if you don't know.

Your 8 week test is a very good indication and unlikely to change. But with that said 3 month follow up test is still a MUST.
