Please help me, I am really scared...

Dear Doctor, I am 20 years old, male, and have been in a committed relationship with a guy of the same age for 3 years now. Because we started the relationship so early, we decided to try a few things together with other guys. We had threesomes with 3 different men. Penetrative sex only occured twice and it was always perfectly protected. We also had oral sex (no ejaculation, no open sores in mouth etc)), analingus, kissing and fingering, all of these not protected. I thought what we did was completely safe as we are both very concerned about our health.

5 days after the last threesome (about 6 weeks after the first) my partner started having a sore throat, it developed into a serious throat ulceration, he also had fever. It was also exam time so we were both incredibly stressed. Then a few days later I developed the same symptoms, though less severe (less throat ulcers). We were treated with antibiotics (penicilin) and it was all gone a couple of days later.

Then exams ended just when we finished taking the antibiotics (though we were already totally well) and happy to have got our freedom back, we went out loads at late night and I started jogging again etc. Two days ago I felt run down again, had high fever (38.5). Yesterday it was loads better, fever never went over 37.7 and today I haven't had fever. Other symptoms include very mild sore throat, a very mild muscle pain (especially the muscles I failed to stretch after a long jogging session two days ago). I sweat while sleeping.

Do you think these could be the early symptoms of HIV? My problem is that I am really really scared, I have long known I have had some sort of hypochondria. This fear of HIV, especially now that I am experiencing these symptoms basically prevents me leading a normal life. This is all I can think about and can hardly sleep, my boyfriend tries to help me but I just can't get it out of my head and I feel it really is ruining me.

Please help me!

this is not the doctor's forum...

sounds like that maybe your last threesome gave you his throat infection...not hiv.

stretch more before and after running and turn the air conditioner to colder :)

No, your symptoms are not related to HIV. If the situation you've provided is true, you have never been at risk.
