How accurate is the test?
The test accuracy has been shown to be >99% however, there is still a risk of false positive and false negative results. The level of antigen and antibody may not be detectable within the first 3 months of infection and false negative results can be obtained during this period. Therefore, positive results need to be confirmed by a laboratory tests and negative results require interpretation to take into account the patient's individual circumstances.
