Purple spots in mouth/tingling sensation in body

Hello,

I'm very worried that I may have been exposed to the HIV virus, I'm very nervous and I'm fixing to schedule a appointment to get tested. Here's my concerns since early 2009, I've been diagnosed with Bacterial Vaginitis, and while being treated for that I was taking a prescription called flagyl after I was done with the medication.. I started to have a tingling sensation throughout my body. I went to the doctor and they took a standard blood test and they did not find any unusual indicators in my blood that would trigger the tingling.. so I ignored it and  it disappeared for a couple of months than it started to reoccur again. Than a couple of weeks ago, I had purple spots inside my mouth as if it looked like someone punched me and it lasted a good week than it disappeared.  Than I had a purple bruise on my leg and it disappeared. Are these indications of the HIV virus?  If so, what stage would it be late HIV to Aids? Or just AIDS? Could a person live a healthy long lasting life if they have AIDs?

Any suggestions of what this could be is greatly appreciated,

Thanks,

Thank you Lizzie for your response.  I got tested at a STD clinic and I tested negative,..but they used the ora-quick testing applicator. Is that a reliable test?

your symptoms are not indicative of hiv.  if it has been 3 months since your last unprotected exposure...then test to know your status.

whooaaaaa now...you are putting the cart before the horse here.  there is no reason to start worrying about employment and life insurance.

go test

understandable... quick question if I do have the virus..do they (medical personnel) report my status to my employer? or is it reported in a national medical database for a employer to inquire for back round checks. I'm just afraid that if i do have the virus..if i would be sat risk of losing my job (I work in a networking department)..

another question

is there medical life insurance for people that do have that virus?

Then you would need to test at 3 months since that exposure for a conclusive result. Symptoms can never be used to give an indication of a HIV infection.

You have to first speak of your risk. Did you have unprotected sex?
