Quick question

I have a problem... I had a couple of oraquick oral swabs that were negative at 20-40 minutes during my ridiculous amount of testing after an unprotected sex episode back at the beginning of the year.  Both times I kept these tests and they ended up showing something on the T hours later.. I went and had 4Th generation ab/ag combo Tests both times and they were both negative , along with multiple more oraquick tests that were negative.  (I threw them away and didn't look at them the next day like I did them two.) basically all I'm wanting to know is that even though I know that the two oraquick tests that showed something on the T zone hours after the test expired is just due to overdevelopment ( that's what the support center said happens after 40 minutes ) , are the  4th generation ab/ag combo tests the new tests to confirm that these are really negative and that everything I saw after expiration time is irrelevant?  I seen the new CDC algorithm about using 4th generation tests after preliminary positive rapid tests and that the western blot and IFA are no longer part of the confirmation part of the algorithm.  Just wanted to make sure that I've taken the right tests to confirm I'm negative ..any help would be greatly appreciated

If any of your negative hiv tests were done 12 wks after your last risk, yes, you are conclusively negative.
Ignore the two tests you let run past the manufacturers time.
This is my last post.
Take care.

Chima7 answered your last question,
telling you the importance of following the directions.
ALL rapid tests, blood, saliva, have a time limit because beyond that time they become unstable and unreliable.
At the appointed time you read it, note it, throw it away as instructed.

Ok thank you. And them two oraquick tests only showed something on the T after they were negative at 20-40 minutes because it was well after read time and the tests had already expired which made what I seen after 40 minutes invalid ?   That is my last question.  Thanks again so much.  You have helped me tremendously just want to make sure I understand this last question.   Happy Holidays

"unprotected sex episode back at the beginning of the year."

If this is the only risk you are concerned about, it is well beyond the conclusive result some experts say a 4th generation test offers at 4 weeks or some say at 6 weeks.

You are conclusively negative. Trust the replies you received. You past the window period and are "conclusively" hiv negative.

Sorry if that is confusing.  To make it simple.  Is the two 4th generation tests that I took after I looked at them two oraquick tests hours after expiration read time and seen faint line on T zone all I need to confirm that them two oraquick tests were really negative and just overdeveloped because it was past read time and that I'm done with testing ?

Unprotected vaginal sex.. like I said I tested negative every time .. all that scares me is the two oraquick tests that showed a line at the T way after expiration time.  I followed them up with 4th generation ab/ag lab tests and they were negative along with more oraquick tests.  Just need to know if the 4th generation tests confirm I'm negative.  Like is there any more testing I need to confirm that them 2 tests were just overdeveloped because I looked at them way after the expiration read time ( 20-40 min ) like the oraquick support people said ?  Just want to make sure I'm really negative.    Thanks for taking time to help

You're supposed to read the directions in the package before using it, which clearly state that the test results are only to be read for a certain timeframe after which they are no longer valid. Just like a pregnancy test. Exactly the same scenario.

If you're not going to read and follow the directions on the package then just go get a blood test from a lab like a regular person and you'll see it will be Negative. Don't use the at home tests if you're not willing to follow the directions.
