Rapid HIV test queries

Hi experts,

Decided to get and test myself with a rapid HIV test (after 3 months) :-)

As I was not experienced with the test kit, after placing a drop of blood into the well, i place the diluent in as instructed, however the buffer did not push the blood up the test kit. After a few minutes (less than 5 minutes), i place a bit more diluent and this time it pushes the blood and buffer up the test kit and the result is negative (one line) after waiting for another 10 to 15 minutes.

Question is:

1. As i waited a few minutes before adding more diluent, will this cause the test to be invalid?

2. As I added a bit more diluent to push the blood up the test kit, will this cause the test to be invalid?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

You should have reread the advice instead of taking a placebo test. As explained before, consider therapy because this is not a forum for what you called your "paranoid" fear. .
