Risk From Brief Insertion - PEP

I have been on PReP for three years and have been taking it regularly.  Last week I had an issue filling the prescription.  The last time I took PReP was on Thursday and I thought my prescription would’ve been filled by Saturday.  On Saturday I met up with someone who I’m casually seeing and he reassured me that he doesn’t hav HIV or STDs and is tested regularly.  In the heat of the moment he briefly inserted his penis in me without a condom, but it hurt so much I told him to take it out immediately.  It was probably only 2 seconds. We continued to only engage in oral.  My pharmacy contacted me on Saturday and told me that they wouldn’t be able to fill the prescription of PReP until Monday.  In the meantime I had my physical with my doctor on Monday and described the event and  on the safe side he put me on PEP.  Even though, Ive talked to my doctor and have started PEP the anxiety is freaking me out and I wanted another opinion about this incident. My casual partner insists he gets tested and negative, but I don’t really know him. If he happens to have HIV was the brief insertion a cause for concern and do you think taken the PEP is overkill since I only missed three days of PReP?

1.. Most people don't have HIV.
2. Your PrEP lapse was a lapse, but protection doesn't disappear immediately.
3.  Your unprotected exposure was very brief.

Considering all of those factors, your risk was extremely low.  The choice of whether to continue PEP or not is yours alone.
