Risk of Catching HIV from a Legal Prostitute in Nevada

Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum and it's great to have such a wonderful site where experienced people are handling your questions in professional manner.

I had "PROTECTED VAGINAL SEX ONLY" "THREE TIMES IN A ROW" within ONE HOUR with a LEGAL PROSTITUTE in a brothel in Pahrump, Nevada nearly THREE WEEKS ago. Before we started, I asked her about her status and she said that she is checked weekly for STDs and monthly for HIV. And condommust be used for ALL activities including oral sex. This is a law.  This was also confirmed by the management when I left. She also said that she never had any STDs in her life.

I know this may sound a little bit stupid to many, or even all of of you: but here we go:

Three to four days ago, i had some pain under my chin which is, I believe, because of a  "swollen lymph". And I starting coughing this morning.

This may be an HIV anxiety or something else. Is it possible that I may have caught HIV?

I not sure if I should get tested since it's only been three weeks.

Can someone please advise?

Thanks.

Hello everbody,

I think I am safe as I had no issues with the condoms such as break or slippage or anything else.

Thanks for the answer. I now don't see any reason to get tested for HIV after all.

Sex with a legal prostitute in Nevada is the safest sex that you can have outside of a mutually monogamous relationship. No legal prostitute in Nevada has ever tested positive for HIV since prostitution was legalized there. Condoms work and they work both ways: the girls are far more at risk from catching something from their clients than the other way around.

PROTECTED sex = NO risk.  testing is not warranted.

if you are having health concerns...see your doctor...its NOT hiv related

Thanks for the fast response. It's even faster than I thought.

So you're saying, no need to get tested??

Thanks,
