STD/STI or HIV risk from Erotic Massage

Hello,

First timer here. As you can see by my username, my reason for being here is pretty obvious lol. Anyways I would like to ask for some advice on oral sex.

Basically I went to an erotic massage parlour about 2 months ago and received a full body slide, oral sex and an uncovered hand job. The oral sex was covered on my part(had a condom on) but I was in the moment and decided to lick the MP's bare vagina for maybe about 2 or 3 licks. I admit my mistake and was very foolish to try out these places for the first time. Now I'm going absolutely crazy and insane about the possible risks. My symptoms include heart palpitations, night sweats and occasionally day sweats.

One of my more concerning symptoms is what I believe is nerve pain. I get tingling pain almost everywhere throughout my body, whether it's in my hands, my legs, my ribs, neck etc. The worst is when I try to sleep. Right before I try to enter a deeper state of sleep I get a pinched feeling in my head and neck area. I also find that I'm peeing a bit more often than usual, and breathing is also a bit heavy at times.

Am I going mad? Or is there a serious risk going on with me? I have booked an appt with the sexual health clinic for testing of gonorrhea and chlamydia for this upcoming Tuesday(It's long weekend here in Canada), and she said testing for HIV might be a bit too early still. If anyone can please help me and/or give me some peace of mind that would be great. Thank you very much.

HIV is instantly inactivated in air otherwise all America would be infected from blood dripping from one person's wound into another, because everyone gets cut and accidentally rubs it into things that people with HIV have likely touched. Playgrounds, toilet seats, NFL games etc involve people with wounds touching where someone else could drip blood.
Only HIV risks for adult are penetrating unprotected vaginal or anal or sharing needles that you INJECT with. Oral is not a risk because of the air inactivation and also saliva inactivates HIV so it is effectively dead.

You had zero risk and will waste your time with a test since your risk of HIV is the same as male pregnancy.

You have no medical training so your self-diagnosed symptoms are likely incorrect. Your self-diagnosed symptoms are natural to have when living in terror, based on the faulty premise that you might be dying - which you are not.

There is an std forum for that info.

Omg even though your response was pretty direct and at times harsh lol (especially the part where you say I have no training and I'm likely incorrect and wasting my time getting tested) I really needed that. Thank you very very much! Although I will probably still have fears in the back of my head (and you're right, unfortunately I did envision myself dying) at least I have a little bit peace of mind. Thanks so much once again for your quick response! :)
I regret that you found AnxiousNoMore's response to be "pretty direct and harsh at times," but you must understand that we receive hundreds of posts every day from people all over the world who are even more terrified than you. We simply do not have the time to give every poster a full tutorial about HIV.

Our main job is to assess your risk for HIV and advise if you should test. AnxiousNoMore gave you an accurate assessment of your risk for HIV and went even further by explaining why there WAS no risk.

Symptoms are NEVER used to diagnose HIV and I believe what AnxiousNoMore meant was that only a doctor who has performed the correct tests can diagnose you. Attempting to diagnose yourself from information on Google is the worst course of action anyone can take.

I totally agree with AnxiousNoMore's assessment that you never had a risk for HIV from the activities you engaged in.

Oral sex is not a risk for HIV, but CAN be a risk for other STD's such as syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and others. You had PROTECTED oral sex from the CSW, so you had absolutely no risk of contracting an STD, or HIV, from that.

When you licked her vagina, you DID put yourself at risk for possible STD's and I would recommend you get yourself checked for those.

As for the symptoms you are experiencing now, none of them is a symptom of ANY STD. A tingling, nerve type pain throughout your ENTIRE body and especially at night involving your neck and head, is definitely not a sign of an STD, but could be a symptom of numerous other issues which you should have your doctor evaluate. A "pinched nerve" in your back or neck can cause the tingling sensation and can also radiate to virtually all areas of your body.

You say you are peeing more than usual. This can happen to any of us depending on our fluid intake and the time of day we consume it. You can test this for yourself by not drinking anything after 6pm for a few nights and seeing if that reduces the number of times you need to urinate. This "test" also includes fruit and berries that contain a lot of water, which many do. If you consume a large slice of watermelon shortly before going to bed, you're going to pee more. They call it "watermelon" for a reason. Alcohol also leeches water from our cells, so if you have a few drinks before bedtime, you can expect to pee more.

What you need to be concerned about regarding  urination is if the urine is darker in color, has a bad or very strong odor, if there is pain or burning upon urination or if there is any type of discharge from your penis. These are the red flags that should get you to your doctor. You also don't mention your age. Many, if not most, older men will reach a point when more frequent trips to the bathroom become a way of life, especially during the night. Depending on your age, it could be related to your prostate and your doctor should evaluate that as well.

And finally, you talk about how your breathing is a "bit heavy" at times. What times would those be? If you were out plowing your fields, it would be perfectly normal for your breathing to be a bit "heavy," or are you talking about while you are at rest? This is a very important distinction. If you find yourself "out of breath" while simply sitting, this should be brought to the attention of your doctor.

You go on to say that other symptoms you are having are "heart palpitations, night sweats and occasionally day sweats."
Please understand that none of us at MedHelp are doctors, but as a retired nurse, I'm going to SUGGEST that  the heavy breathing, palpitations and night/day sweat COULD all be anxiety driven due to your fear of having contracting an STD.

You wrote to us at the HIV PREVENTION Forum and you were assessed by AnxiousNoMore that you had NO RISK for HIV. There is a separate forum for other STD's which ANM advised you to consult. Those of us on the HIV Forum certainly know and understand about the various STD's, but for really in-depth information and advice, you need to address your STD concerns to them.

At this point, MY humble advice would be that you see your doctor, tell him/her what your possible exposure was and all of your symptoms and put your healthcare in his/her hands.

You did say that while you got SOME peace of mind about your assessment, you STILL have fears at the back of your mind. The ONLY way those fears are going to be completely put to rest is having your doctor run tests and address your symptoms. We can not diagnose you.

I'm sorry if you found my response to also be a bit harsh. Sometimes we find it necessary to motivate people to get pro-active in their own healthcare.
We all wish you the very best

Hello,

I sincerely apologize if it seemed like I was offended by both yours and AnxiousNoMore's answers to my questions and concerns. I meant it in a lighthearted way and trust me I am very appreciative of all the help I'm receiving here.

I want to truly thank you for your very lengthy and detailed answer as well and I will follow your advice and go to a doctor to check it out. I've been going to the doctor the last few weeks and told them a few of my symptoms. They told me to just monitor it for now and come back when I feel it's getting worse, which I intend to do.

Thank you once again for all your help. I really hope I could get this issue off my chest and move on.
