Hiv in envelope

Hi, I received mail from someone and there was blood on the inside of it. Is there a risk for transmission even if the blood wasnt dry?

Hi there. As soon as blood leaves the host and hits the air, the virus is inactive and cannot infect.

You have had no risk of HIV, even if you had rubbed the paper into an open wound it would still be no risk.

Hope that helps buddy.

Hi, thanks for the response! Is the virus dead by the time i opened the inside of my mail? Do i need to worry about getting papercuts or deep wounds and touching the blood even if i just opened the letter, or does hiv transmission just not happen like this?

Hi there.

Even if the blood was wet, it would still be no risk.

You have absolutely had a NO RISK situation :)
