Shook hands and visible blood was present. HIV risk?

So I shook hands with an old friend of mine last night and his knuckle was cut open and he didn't know it. I looked at my hand a few seconds after shaking his hand and noticed there was a small red spot that was blood from his knuckle. He just said sorry and told me to wipe it off on him but i didn't. I freaked out and put purell all over the spot where it was and then went to the bathroom where i washed my hands about 8 times, making sure i got it all off. I still am freaking out though, b/c I have dry hands since it's winter and they are cracked (but not bleeding but it hurts when I put purell on) in some places. Am I at risk to contract HIV? I don't think I really have to worry about it, but I have hemophobia which is the fear of blood which I have to take medicine for. Any advice?

You didn't have risk of HIV from what you describe.
HIV is transmitted by: unprotected vaginal/anal sex, sharing needles for injecting drugs, mother to child.
