Swollen Glands

hello all,

I had an unprotected oral sex encounter with a sex worker in August 2011. I did not have vaginal sex due to having an early ejaculation and decided to leave.  ((also I was horrified later to discover, I had herpes symptoms and later was diagnosed with IGM positive not sure HSV 1 or HSV 2 but 3 months later IGG cam back negative for both 1 and 2 and no outbreak so far)) Now my biggest fear is possible exposure to HIV through this episode. I have had HIV DUO test at 6, 12 and 22 weeks all negative. However no post 7 months exposure my left glands are swollen and seem to have a blockage filled with mucus. Doctor has advised it is inflamation of Salivary glands. My worry is am i having a late sero conversion as internet keep stating that swollen salivary especially parotid gland is an indication of HIV? Please help share your thoughts. I am horrified and very anxious. I have had eye burning and dry mouth along with this.

Hi All,

Please bear with me and help me answer couple more questions, please do not get offended as I am not able to find much literature or facts about these questions anywhere in your archives
1) Can someone catch HIV and HSV simultaneously?
2) Does HIV antibodies take time to detect if HIV and HSV were transmitted or acquired at the same exposure?
3) I have had swollen glands and salivary gland infection with tenderness 6 months post exposure do i need another test for HSV or HIV? though i have had them negative at 3 month mark. Please advise and million blessings to all of you wherever you are....

you never had a risk...hiv is not transmitted through oral sex.

REGARDLESS of this FACT...you have tested and your results PROVE that you DONT have hiv.
