I had unprotected vaginal sex with a man around 7 weeks ago, I was on the contraceptive pill but didn't use a condom. He seems fine (I am notnaive enough to assume he is not infected of course).
Around six and a half weeks after having sex, I begun getting slight headaches , mainly on one side (back of skull) but radiating around to the rest of my head. Went and saw doctor, she said it probably is tension headaches caused by stress (one of my family members is very ill, likely that this effected me, I am a completehypochondriac ). She prescribed some strong painkillers, didn't seem to greatly help. She also felt the area that was hurting me on my head, said she fealt nothing unusual.
(I have read acute hiv symptoms occur all at once?)
However the headaches slightly worsened, and after a few days I begun feeling weak and fatigued,. My neck was also feeling really stiff, and my shoulder too, only on one side). The headaches remained a dull ache, I noticed slightly large lymph nodes on two points in my neck (one roughly the size of a peanut, one a pea), it is likely I was touching them a lot which could irritate them. I had no enlarged nodes on my armpits or groin, no fever (doctor checked this), no sorethroat , no rash, but I did have thrush which had been happening about 3 weeks previously. I am stupidly worried, I reckon anxiety is causing many symptoms , I also had a prolonged loss ofappetite , and slight diaria and constipation during the week I was ill. There is no noticeable weight loss but I may have lost a few pounds (again due to anxiety? Or not eating a lot). Half way through being ill I needed to urinate frequently, But I was drinking a lot of water.
The illness was also centered around my period (controlled with the pill) but I haven't experienced anything like this before.
After being ill for a week I now feel slightly better, and stress does seem to worsen my headaches.
I apologise for a huge essay, and before you suggest it, I have a HIV test tomorrow, I will also be checked for other diseases and pregnancy. I would just like to know if these symptoms soundfamiliar to HIV or do you reckon it's non-related? Does this sound like any other virus? Or do you think it's muscular pain related and I am stressed? Am I high risk?
Thank you, would really appreciate a kind reply.
