Testing again...

Okay.... Very last question for you.

I was tested  negative at about 18 1/2 weeks from my unprotected sex, and 7 weeks from a razor blade cut.

I still show some symptoms of ARS. swollen neck glands, sinus swelling, headaches. Never had a fever, and never had diarreah. althouigh kind of hot and sweaty durning the day.

But what i didn't mention before is that the razors that I was cut on were stored in a little Exacto box that is closed by a latch. Does this mean if there was blood on the razor that it may have lived 2 weeks. Is it a possibility that it did not get enough air exposure to dry??

please advise... I'm not that confident about my 7 week negative test

This is my last post with regards to this.  Thank you.

Good be done with it because this razor situation is ridiculous in the first place. Theres no chance in the world you could get hiv from a razor.

This has truly, truly been the most heartbreaking experience in my life....

I'm so appreciative of your comments. It really helps...

The razor is still an issue because I've already tested  18 1/2 weeks negative from the unprotected sex I had with my ex. and the cut occured after the test along with sick "like" symptoms that DON'T go away. I've tested negative 6 1/2 weeks from the razor cut, but not 12. So I'm associating the cut with exposure. But everyone is telling to stop with it, so I'm done with it. Finally.

Thanks for your support...

Sigh. You could cut yourself with all the razor blades on the entire planet over a billion lifetimes and not catch HIV. You are obsessing over an IMPOSSIBILITY.

You really need to find a counselor who can talk with you about this face to face, and help you disassociate your symptoms from your razor blade event. This site can't help you anymore.

Didn't you say you had broken up with a boyfriend? I'm no psychologist, but I'm guessing this might have alot to do with what you are going though. A good therapist can help you sort that out.

Also, NOTHING you describe as symptoms is related to ARS. NOTHING!!!!

Thank you so much for answering my concerns....

I've been experiencing these awful symptoms and associating them with the cut I got. I have an appointment to see an Infectious Disease doctor on Thrusday. I'm scared to DEATH that she's going to think I have it.

Have you ever in you practice seen a person test negative at 7 weeks, then test again into a positive result?? How common would that be???

You are out of control about this "exposure".  It was not - the HIV virus DOES NOT survice for weeks on an inanimate object..  Believe your test results.  I am confident about your test results even if you are not.  If you are not, you do not need my advice, you need the assistance of a counselor who can help to to overcome this pathalogical, harmful (to you) inappropriate and unjustified concern (I say this out of interet in your health).  Further questions will be deleted without comment.  EWH
