Test at 6 weeks is conclusive?

Hi, I got HIV test at 6 weeks and the result is negative. But the nurse told me to come back in 3 months. She also told me it's 3 generation and half test. I don't understand. I think there's no such a thing called 3.5 generation HIV test. My question is do I need to get tested again after 3 months? Please help!

You did not have a risk from protected sex and your negative tests prove it.

I had sex with a guy unknown status. We used a condom but his penis was kinda limp during the sex so I was afraid the sperm might've leak from the base of the condom and got into my vagina even if it didn't break. Can anybody tell me do I need to go back to get tested again?

Tests that look for antigens are 4th Generation

What was your exposure?

She said it tests for some antigens too but she insisted it's not 4 generation test. I got tested at Erie county department of health in buffalo. Anybody knows what kind of test they provide? Do I need to get tested again?

Testing at 3 months is just to comply with federal guidelines.  A 6 week negative test very rarely changes at 3 months,

There is no such thing as a 3.5 Generation test, I honestly could not tell you where the nurse got information like that.
