URGENT! i believe this worrying has been interfearing with my sanity.

QSo its been a whole year and a half, maybe a little longer. I went to the hospital because 3 days after I had unprotected sex with a male friend, I aquired painful white sores near my anus and close to my vagina.. the doctor told me to him it looked like hsv 2. He prescribed me valtrex..the sores always cleared up within a week after taking these meds. I had burning and tingling on my buttocks and the back of my thighs..lower back pain but he said all of that is common with hsv2. I haven't gotten checked yet but am soon.. I think I just haven't because I'm scared its somthing else. But I keep getting frequent YIs and this time around it was a few days after my period I got one..my discharge was a very offwhite mixed with a litttttle bit of light brown.. I've done some reasearch but here are my questions..

Q1. Can hiv be mistaken for herpes, in other words do you think I have hiv instead of what my doctors opinion was?
Q2. Can herpes cause frequent YIs?
Q3. I know the only way to rule out hiv is too get tested but does it sound like I could have it?

I think there is a herpes board here with people who could better answer your herpes questions. This board is HIV specific.

Can my pain from what seems like a yi really just be from the possible herpes sores inside my vagina? Or are those two completely different things?

I don't think there is any reason to think you have HIV.  Since you had unprotected sex you should get tested anyways to ease your mind.  But HIV doesn't cause vaginal and anal sores, nor does it act that fast.  Herpes, especial type 2, will have multiple outbreaks in the begin and as the years pass less and less outbreaks.  The yeast infects are probably either a side effect of valtrex or you have sores inside you vagina that you cannot see.
