Vasline as lube with condom

Hello Everyone,

I have a question, I slept with an escort a week ago, she used vasline as a lube on the condom and afterwards I checked the condom very well and it wasn't broken, no leakage, it seemed ok. Is there anything to worry about and should I get tested for HIV. Also, the last 6 months I have slept with 9 escorts and did everything safe, protected oral, protected vaginal and checked condoms after, which were ok. Is there a need to get tested. Thanks.

Did you ever get an HIV test after your use with the vaseline?

Latex condoms can only be used with water based lubricants, not oil based lubricants such as Vaseline or cold cream as they break down the latex. A small number of people have an allergic reaction to latex and can use polyurethane condoms instead.

Polyurethane condoms are made of a type of plastic. They are thinner than latex condoms, and so they increase sensitivity and are more agreeable in feel and appearance to some users. They are more expensive than latex condoms and slightly less flexible so more lubrication may be needed. However both oil and water based lubricants can be used with them.

If the condom didn't fail there was no risk. Use waterbase lube like it says on the package.

Nothing, vaseline doesn't affect the efficiency of the condom. You're fine. Nothing to worry.

There's no reason for you to test, you have always used condoms for penetrative vaginal sex. Condoms are safe and when used consistently & correctly it doesn't warrant HIV testing.

Please move on.
