hiv risk, symptoms and fear

hello all, like most who post on this forum I had a highly risky situation of unprotected oral and intercourse little over three months ago with a female escort. since the day that can only be described as baneful i've had some random symptoms which make me suspect of a possible hiv infection.

ever since my exposure i have had boil-like bumps in my skin, which make my skin feel stiff, specially in the neck, arms and back, i must say they're not widespread, it can be one two or three at most, but lord how they hurt. I have thought it could be varicella zoster, doctors say it isnt

other symptom I've had is a sore throat, about two or three weeks after exposure I developed a strong sore throat along with fever (tonsilitis), and my tongue turned whiter than before, i also had a burning bump on my palate, tested for HSV 1 & 2, results came back positive for HSV-1, negative for HSV-2.

now my two worrisome its a persistent athma, bronchitis like symptoms and the ance-like bumps in my skin

im very afraid of testing for hiv, i know i wouldnt handle a poz result with ease, itd destroy my life although i know i have to do it

my question is wht are the chances of being hiv+?

hi all, its me once again, this may be the last time i post in this forum and in this thread. just wanted to appreciate all of your help and guidance in probably the toughest emotional situation i have been in the last three or four years

after unleashing what seemed like an endless internal battle i got tested for hiv  3 1/2 months post exposure and thanks be to the Lord Almight my results came back negative, my doctor said these tests are conclusive and need no further testing

from the bottom of my heart thank you all, best wishes!

p.s: and my most sincere appology goes out to you for posting on here, God bless!

If your test was positive, they'd rush to tell you. That way you can begin treatment as soon as possible.

Also, your negative attitude needs a readjustment. Talking about how your just going to let this virus (that you probably don't have) kill you and that the medicine is toxic. That is just not the case. The medicine is what allows people to live full lifespans. And how is HIV "hell's illness" is any way, shape, or form? What you're doing is you're looking for us to sympathize for you, and that will not happen.

Your "symptoms" do not resemble HIV in any fashion

Thank you guys for your support. now im more determined to get tested than ever before. perhaps the reason i believe there's a high chance of results coming back as positive is the presence of shingles in me, although i havent developed common blisters i do have the symptoms, i do feel a tingling, burning sensation (arms), numbness and at times internal pain when i bent in the left side of my back, just where shingles appears.

as you can see i dont have some of the common shingles symptoms, but i do have others therefore i know this are shingles, cus you dont really need to be covered in blisters or be sensitive to touch

thus far this is why im scared, im afraid cus shingles are common on hiv positive people, and if im negative then i shouldnt have shingles! fact is, i got em from the escort.

Just read this for the first time.
Glad you decided to test, it is what you must do.
Keep in mind you would not be the first to have a risk, experience this only to test negative. So you very well may be.
Your HSV 1 pos could be something you had since childhood. This is quite common.
Generally a Dr. would prescribe a penicillin for 10 days or so.
This cleared my 3 month irritated, burning blood vessel burst vain throat heal.

i have decided to finally take the hiv test, if everything goes out as planned i'll have blood withdraw tomorrow and have the results by friday.

i know my results will be positive, i feel it in my heart, everything points towards that direction. i remember the first days post exposure having diarrhea, fever, white & sore tongue, tonsilitis, symptoms of varicella-zoster & stiff neck.

those symptoms came days apart from each other, they didnt actually come all at once. anyway, long story short, around three weeks ago i visited the doctor and he prescribed me some acyclovir to threat my HSV-1 condition, and since acyclovir reduces the levels of hiv in your blood i didnt have much to worry about, health wise.

until three days ago, now i have the exact same symptoms i had post exposure! exactly the same symptoms! diarrhea is back at full force, and i sense tonsilitis round two its about to strike again i can feel it and i know its due to the gooddamn hiv disease. every single one of them are hitting back at me

there is no doubt in my mind this is hiv, so i will get tested to confirm what i already know. one thing i know, once i get confirmed of my hiv status, i aint taking no medicine, i aint taking no pills, i'll let the virus do what it has to do, current treatment for hiv are more toxic than the virus itself and as far as im aware the virus keeps on moving silently anyway (yes, i read the news today).

thank you all for your attention, take good care of yourselves

i know i have a chance of being negative, however the thought of being positive is overwhelming, and brings me down emotionally every time. i wish i had the strength in me to take the bloody test to end this nightmare once and for all

but i know i will probably within the next few days

Regardless of your other symptoms, you need to be tested for HIV.

Even the escort you were with has advised you to test. That should be all the motivation you need. You're the only one who can end your nightmare.

I wish you the best.

from the moment i notice the first symptoms i rushed to contact the girl i had sex with. confronted and asked her straightforward if she carries STDs she said no, i insisted and told her about my symptoms, she denied having any disease and encouraged me to get tested for hiv.

at some point she got mad and stopped replying to me

its hard to believe her when everything i feel points to an hiv infection its my personal living hell, a nightmare. its taken over my life

im not sure whether its athma/bronchitis or not hence i said symptoms are akin to athma & bronchitis, i feel shortness of breath, like my throat is plugged.ive been to the doctor 7 times, been told i have none of that

looks like they cant figure out what the problem in my throat is, other than saying its an infection which i know

How can u tell it's asthma or bronchitis .did u consult a chest specialist with an chest x Ray .did he say it's asthma or bronchitis .first of all bronchitis is not an hiv symptom and asthma @ difficulty breathing is same @ bronchitis @ congestion of respiratery airways .I don't think you consult a doctor .I think ur relating asthma with bronchitis .get tested .that's all its been 3 months .u will get a conclusive result

I can't possibly tell you what your chances are for a positive result, only that you definitely had a risk and definitely need to test.
