hiv testing after 35 days

hi,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the 4th generation test is available by text yet. I know the doctors on here have mentioned that it is in their blogs but i have tried to text it and I dont get a reply. I had an admittedly low risk exposure (unprotected oral from a CSW as well as that she french kissed me ) 35 days ago and I would like to do this test for peace of mind. I don't know of anywhere in Ireland offering this test and my own doc advised me to test at the three month mark. its just i have now developed flu like symptoms and while i am trying not to worry, I think that only a test result will calm my fears. if anyone know of any way to get a 4th gen test I would appreciate it

Thanks

hi getitright77, you got it right, i didnt have ars, i found a tension spot at the base of my skull that when i massaged it my sore throat and headaches went away! anyway you mentioned a 3rd gen test. im not even sure they do duo/combi tests in ireland but ill ask at the clinic. plan on going in tomorrow (5 weeks PE with no obvious symptoms, apart from lower ab pain for the last few weeks which i think is something else.) would you consider an antibody test 5 weeks pe to be a conclusive / or bloody good indicator that all is well??

thanks for your response. just going through one of the bad days today

thanks. I am trying to stay positive and I was very in control of everything until I started feeling unwell and ticking off the ARS symptoms checklist!! sometimes too much info is a bad thing i suppose. Ill wait for the three month mark for confirmation. I know / hope it is just for peace of mind.

Thanks again

You realize that you never had a risk of hiv transmission from the situation you described. If you are going to insist on testing then take a 3rd generation test if a 4th generation is not avaliable to you from where you are from.Test for other std,s.Your symptoms are not hiv specific.
