Welcome to our Forum.  I would guess that at least half of the questions we get on this site are similar to yours.  I realize that you would like a personalized answer and you will get that but to verify what I say, please feel free to review other posts on the site – there are many.

You are correct, there is virtually no risk from oral insertive sex, even if your partner had HIV and it is unlikely that your partner did have HIV.  Relatively few people do.  The quoted figure for HIV risk, if one has oral sex with an infected partner is less than 1 in 10,000 and, in my estimation that is too high. Some experts state there is no risk at all from oral sex.  Neither of us on this site have ever seen or reading the medical literature of a convincing instance in which HIV was passed by oral sex.

In getting tested to reassure yourself that you did not get infected, you can stop at this time.  You have been tested with both antibody tests and with a test for the virus itself.  Your antibody tests at 11 weeks are conclusive by themselves.  Neither of us on the site have been able to find anyone who has not been taking anti-HIV therapy who has taken more than 8 weeks to develop a positive test in more than 3 years.  In addition to this definitive answer, you also have a negative HIV PCR which would most likely have been positive at 6 weeks.  The two test results taken together essentially guarantee that you did not get HIV.

No, you would not have infected your wife through sex in the day or two after infection  even if you had gotten infected.

The symptoms you describe are non-specific and do not suggest HIV.

Bottom, line, there is no reason at all for you to worry.  I hope that these comments are helpful to you.  EWH

No, the cortisone/methylprednisilone does not change things.  You do not have HIV.

Persons become infectious when there is virus in their blood. This can occur as soon as two weeks following exposure or can take longer, perhaps up to 6 weeks or so following exposure.  EWH

Perhaps you did not read my response.  I listed a number of reasons why you do not have to worry.  I see no need to repeat them.

You may post your 13 week test results.  Before you do however, I will predict that they will be negative because of the reason I have listed.  you do not need to worry.  EWH

Lizzie and teek say oral is zero risk. is that why you say my 11 week is conclusive.

If i did contract HIV i'm thinking i would have to make medical history something i don't want

insertive oral very low chance
picking a girl who has hiv very low chance
having hiv rna not detected
8 and 11 week antibody negative.

this would have to make my chances 1in a millon

is it ok for me to post my week 13 results for you

Doc,

that is intresting becuase i was told you can infect someone after 24 hours after being infected.

I search some treads here an on the forum i think teak said after 24 hrs. i really take his coments with a grain of salt. he says oral is zero risk i don't beleive that.

But I saw Dr hunter say's mor inline with you 10 to 14 days before you can infect someone.

now that my anxiety is over. i hope i can start helping others in my situation.

thanks again Sir.

i may do the 13 week test just cause cdc say's even tho in my heart i belive you, just can't take the chance with the wife.as god is my witness i will never put my self in this spot again givin a secound chance. 14 years with the same woman only ever here and 2 minute mes up cuased all of this.

sorry just had to get that of my chest.god bless you.
