My daughters baby had a brain at 6 months in the womb - when she was born she only had a brain stem and part of the cerebellum - she was also born with Herpes - does strain 1 or strain 2 cause this?

I searched for some info on this.  The only reference I could find said that most HIV infected babies die before the age of 8. ( http://www.****.htm )

25% of HIV infected mothers will pass HIV to their baby.  Much less (down to 8% and lower) if HIV is medications are being used to reduce transmission risk.
