linear gingival erythema - Could it really be

Hi All

I hope someone can help me rationalise my thinking. here's my story i'll try and keep it short

For a variety of reasons which i won't go into for the sake of time i've had sex  with a good number of prostitutes in UK (London) over the last 5 years 100% of the sex was with a condom but sometimes the blowjobs were without.

I was always informed that the only sexual risks for HIV are unprotected Virginal and Anal sex. I've never had unprotected virginal sex and never ever had anal sex.

Also as odd as this is going to sound now I have never had 1 night stand or any kind of drunken sex before so every single time i have used a condom for viginsl sex zero exceptions.

I noticed I had 3 teeth along the bottom of mouth with red lines around the gum-line good old google gave me LGE but also marginal gingivitis, went to dentist and he has always said your oral hygiene is poor even as a youngster 14/15 year old to be honest  don't go often this was my 1st visit in 4 years and i only went cos i was sure it was plaque causing this "redness"

Anyway 3 days after the clean and the red line is still there now i'm petrified as i read LGE doesn't respond to conventional dental clean.

If its not plaque and tartar causing this it has to be LGE but how can i have a HIV specific problem if I have "never" apparently been in a position to contract the virus.

Only thing i can think is i had a very painful blowjob some time ago could it be that could she have deliberately or unintentionally infected me somehow through this I really really don't know.

Almost everyone on here will say go for a HIV test and I know i should but as stupid as this sounds i think i'd rather ot know than get a diagnosis.

Bottom line how can could I have possibly been exposed to or given HIV if I didn't engage in unprotected sex with anyone. And no I don't inject needles either

Sorry I did ramble on a bit thank you if you have read it all the way to the end. Help Please

So you have an HIV+ test? No. No reason to speak about HIV then.

I haven't had a test I was hoping to get an experts opinion on my situation that's all

What opinion? You had no risk. If you think you have something that is only specific to HIV, well you don't. But to know the only way is to test.

So i am right in assuming protected sex and unprotected oral (receiving) is no risk because that is the only activity i have engaged in without protection.
I promise i won't go on and on after this post.

Thanks

Thank you Vance and James for your inputs its appreciated. I have 1 final question, i'm by no means an expert or in any real way knowledgeable about the subject of LGE which is why i wish to ask this but can either of you (or anyone else who knows, Does this Linear Gigivitas Erethmia always be red or can it also appear purple and also does it go all the way round the gum so front and back or can it be just on 1 side.
Also in my case it appear appears to only be along the bottom teeth and on either side not among the middle.
Last question and thank for taking the time to read and respond again it is really apreciated

Also is there anything else that rdrmblrs this as I'm more and more convicted that this is exactly what it is but I know I have not knowingly put myself at risk of exposure eg always worn protection

All we can say is no had no HIV rush, and if you can't accept that you can test.

I meant to say HIV risk**, dang autocorrect.

Just because something says HIV specific on the Internet doesn't mean it's true.

Hi Mate

Still here still being a wimp I can't bring myself to test its actually stressed me out so much, I don't know why now after all this time.

I went to hospital with chest pains they did all the tests they usually do blood count chest x ray ECG etc everything came back normal. Doc told me its probably stress... um you think lol

2 questions

1 can a normal Red and white blood count tell me anything about my status?

2. you've mentioned to me that my "red gum margin  could be a number of conditions could you possibly tell me 1 or 2?
I know this whole thig sounds stupid but I use a light to look at both sides of gums closer and under the light they appear more purple than red.... Odd no?

I will test eventually when i grow some balls i guess

Sorry I was actually back to ask I don't know where the rant in the previous post came from i guess thats how stressed I am

Could a condom have broken without me or the lady actually realising?

I ask this becuase to the best of my knowledge they have all been in tact (luckily) but always doubt in my mind

Thanks in advance to the assistance

Look, you did not have a risk.  I'm not going to go over anything with you because it will only make you feel worse.  You can move on from this knowing you are okay.

I know in my head you are right i understand the transmition risks etc
I'm just a worried idiot who can't seem to bring himself to test nor bring himself to move on.

I know you say i can move on but would you recomend a test for example a rapid test at a walk in centre? this is my plan get it over and done with quickly but then i hear "false positives" and it the living crap out of me

If it was not for my gums issues I would not even be here

1.  I still have the red margins along the gum line - Linear gingivitis erythema  which is no going away.
2.  I also believe I have or have had Necrosis Ulcerative Gingivitis on the middle section of the bottom gums which is probably why they aren't red like the molars on either side

And the top gums have pulled away from teeth so much I know they will fall out very soon I started using Corsodyl a few days ago in the hope of improving the gums but this seemed to trigger a quicker recession of the gums a lot in the 3 days I've used it.

I know I have never had unprecedented sex only unprecedented oral sex so why HIV well those are very spsspecific HIV gum issues.

It's got to the point that I'm waking up from sleeping because I am so petrified of having contracted the virus panic attacks left right and centre.

I just keep thinking 'I can't have HIV because I've been sensible and protected my self but if i don't have HIV then why all this HIV related gum problems it's the only explanation that makes sense and fits.

I feel sick as I can't seem to think of anything else

Get testedfor your own peace of mind. If you are sexually active it would be prudent to test for all std's every 3-6 months. For your own safety and future partners. No otherway to put it. Since its on your mind get a full panel std test and dont be a whimp saying "i can't". Im not saying your infected from all that you have said. But the only person who truly knows your habits is you. So for your own sake. Get tested. Good luck!
